This Bakery-Style Apple Fritter Bread features a tender loaf filled with juicy apples and warm spices. Perfect for breakfast, a snack, or dessert!

- 1 large Gala apple, peeled and cored
- ½ cup light brown sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp apple pie spice blend
- ⅓ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup buttermilk
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare loaf pan with Baker’s Spray.
- Mix diced apples with brown sugar, flour, and apple pie spice. Set aside.
- Combine remaining flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix until blended.
- Fold half of the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, then add buttermilk.
- Combine the remaining dry ingredients and fold just until mixed.
- Spread half of the batter in the loaf pan, followed by two-thirds of the apple filling, then top with remaining batter.
- Spoon the leftover apple mixture on top and swirl gently with a knife.
- Bake for 30 minutes uncovered, then cover with foil and bake an additional 20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10-20 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
- Mix powdered sugar and heavy cream for the glaze; pour over cooled bread.
Notes
Store the bread at room temperature for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
Can be refrigerated for about a week or frozen for up to 3 months.
Allow to thaw and microwave for 15-20 seconds for a warm treat.
