Description

This biscuits and gravy casserole combines savory sausage, creamy gravy, and fluffy biscuits, making it a delightful breakfast or brunch dish that’s easy to prepare and full of flavor. Perfect for family gatherings or a comforting weeknight meal!


Ingredients

  • Refrigerated Biscuit Dough (16 oz)
  • Breakfast Sausage (1 lb)
  • All-Purpose Flour (3 tablespoons)
  • Whole Milk (3 cups)
  • Salt and Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • Garlic Powder (1 tsp, optional)
  • Onion Powder (1 tsp, optional)
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese (1 ½ cups)
  • Large Eggs (4)
  • Heavy Cream or Milk (¼ cup)


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  • Cut biscuit dough into quarters and place in the baking dish.
  • Cook sausage in a skillet until browned, then drain excess grease.
  • Sprinkle flour over sausage, stir, then whisk in whole milk and cook until thickened.
  • Season the gravy, and stir in cheese until melted.
  • Pour sausage gravy over biscuits, then whisk eggs and cream together and pour over casserole.
  • Top with remaining cheese and bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

You can substitute turkey sausage for a leaner option.
Using room temperature eggs helps achieve better mixing.
For a crispy top, increase the oven temperature to 375°F for the last 5 minutes.
