Ingredients
Scale
- 4 tbsp butter, divided
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp chilli crisp, or 1 tsp dried chilli flakes
- 1 sweetheart cabbage, pointed cabbage in the US, cut into quarters
- 4 tbsp panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp hazelnuts, chopped, optional
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200C/400F and cut the cabbage into quarters.
- Combine 3 tbsp of melted butter with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and chilli crisp (or flakes) and brush the mixture on the cabbage wedges, including the bottoms.
- Place the cabbage on a baking sheet and roast for 20 minutes, until charred and slightly crispy. For denser cabbage, roasting may take up to 35 minutes.
- Prepare the breadcrumbs by melting the remaining tablespoon of butter in a pan and adding breadcrumbs and garlic powder. Cook until golden, stirring continuously to prevent burning.
- Remove the breadcrumbs from the heat and sprinkle them over the roasted cabbage wedges along with chopped hazelnuts and parsley before serving.
Notes
If using dried chilli flakes, adjust the amount based on your heat preference.
Make sure to toast the breadcrumbs until golden for added crunch.
Fresh parsley enhances the flavor, but it can be omitted if unavailable.
