Description

Chive Blossom Vinegar is a delightful infusion that brings irresistible flavor to dishes with its fresh chive blossoms and white balsamic vinegar. It’s easy to make and ideal for adding a touch of gourmet flair to your meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh chive blossoms
  • 1 ½ cup white balsamic vinegar or the vinegar of your choosing

Instructions

  1. Gently rinse the chive blossoms under cool water and pat them dry.
  2. Place the chive blossoms in a clean glass jar or bottle with a tight-fitting lid.
  3. Pour your chosen vinegar over the chive blossoms, making sure they are fully submerged.
  4. Use a clean spoon or chopstick to press down on the blossoms to release flavor.
  5. Seal the jar tightly and store it in a cool, dark place.
  6. Let the blossoms infuse in the vinegar for two to three weeks, shaking the jar gently every few days.
  7. Strain the vinegar through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean bottle, discarding the chive blossoms.
  8. Store the chive blossom vinegar in a cool, dark place. It can be used in recipes, dressings, and marinades.

Notes

Use a vinegar of your choice for different flavor profiles.
Shake the jar gently during the infusion for consistent flavor distribution.
The infused vinegar will continue to develop flavor over time.
