Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6 t cocoa powder
  • ½ cup water hot
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a medium pot, combine cocoa powder and sugar.
  • Gradually add hot water while stirring.
  • Stir until the mixture is well combined. Then, add light corn syrup while keeping the burner on medium heat.
  • Continuously stir while bringing the mixture to a boil until it reaches the soft ball stage.
  • Once it reaches the right temperature, remove from heat and mix in the heavy whipping cream and vanilla extract.
  • Allow the sauce to cool for about 30 minutes before whisking it.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for 1 ½ hours. Serve over ice cream or other desserts.

Notes

Store any leftover sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
Reheat gently in the microwave if it becomes too thick after chilling.
