Description

These Christmas cream cheese cookies are a festive treat with a soft, fluffy texture and irresistible flavor. Made with simple ingredients, they are perfect for holiday gatherings and will delight your friends and family with their sweet glaze and colorful sprinkles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup one stick unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1½ cups powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1¾ cups flour
  • christmas sprinkles
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  • Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a mixer bowl, cream the softened butter and cream cheese together until well combined.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar and beat the mixture until fluffy.
  • Beat in one egg.
  • Slowly incorporate the flour, baking powder, sprinkles, and vanilla extract. Mix until the dough comes together well.
  • Chill the dough for at least 1 hour.
  • Shape the chilled dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared cookie sheets, spacing them 1½ inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, just until the edges are slightly golden. The centers should remain soft for the best texture.
  • Allow the cookies to cool for about a minute on the cookie sheet before transferring them to cooling racks.
  • Combine the remaining powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons of water to create a glaze and spoon it over the cookies immediately, adding sprinkles before the glaze hardens.

Notes

Chilling the dough is essential for achieving the right texture and shape when baking.
Try adding different types of sprinkles or colored sugar for a festive touch.
Ensure not to overbake the cookies to keep them soft and chewy.
