- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Christmas sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and line a 10-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add in the eggs, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and almond extract and mix until combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt, then combine with the wet ingredients until just mixed.
- Spread the dough evenly in the prepared baking pan and bake for 20-30 minutes until edges are golden and center is slightly gooey.
- Cool completely before frosting.
- For the frosting, beat cream cheese, softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream until smooth.
- Spread the frosting on the cooled cookie bars and top with Christmas sprinkles. Slice and serve.

Use vegan butter and a flax egg for a dairy-free and egg-free version.
For a healthier alternative, substitute whole wheat flour for all-purpose flour.
