This Football Cheese Ball offers a delightful blend of cream cheese, cheddar, and crunchy pecans. It’s an easy preparation that makes it ideal for parties, especially during the Super Bowl. Serve it with crackers or fresh veggies for a flavorful snack that everyone will love!


Ingredients

  • 2 (8 oz) cream cheese, slightly firm
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 piece string cheese


Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine slightly firm cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder. Beat the mixture until smooth and well incorporated.
  • Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for one hour.
  • Lay a piece of plastic wrap on the counter, and place the cheese mixture in the center. Gather the sides to form it into a ball shape.
  • In a separate bowl, place the chopped pecans and roll the cheese ball in them until fully coated.
  • Transfer the cheese ball to a serving plate and shape it like a football.
  • Cut the string cheese into pieces and arrange them over the top of the cheese ball to create laces.
  • Serve it with crackers, pretzels, or vegetables.

Notes

Mix the cheese ball ingredients the day before to save time on game day.
Feel free to substitute pecans with walnuts for a different flavor.
Adding a dash of hot sauce can give the cheese ball an extra kick.
