Description

These homemade French Fries In Air Fryer are irresistibly crispy and golden-brown, made with simple ingredients like russet potatoes and olive oil. Perfect for a quick and tasty snack or a comforting side dish, these fries are easy to prepare and deliciously satisfying!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large russet potatoes scrubbed and dried peel intact
  • 2-3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp seasoned salt or cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp granulated garlic or garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • chopped fresh parsley for garnishing (optional)

Instructions

  • Scrub and clean the potatoes, then cut them into 1/4 inch slices. Rinse with cold water, drain well, and pat dry with a paper towel.
  • In a medium bowl, drizzle the potato slices with olive oil and season with seasoned salt, granulated garlic, and black pepper. Toss to fully coat the potatoes.
  • Arrange the potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. If the basket is too full, cook in two batches, keeping warm in a 200°F oven between batches.
  • Cook the fries at 375°F for 10 minutes, shaking the basket or flipping them halfway. If needed, spray with cooking spray. Continue to cook for another 8-10 minutes until they are crisp and golden brown. Increase the temperature to 400°F during the last few minutes for extra browning.
  • Sprinkle the fries with more seasoned salt to taste, and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
  • Serve immediately with your choice of dipping sauces such as ketchup or comeback sauce.
  • For optional garlic and Parmesan topping, sauté 4 cloves of minced garlic in 1 teaspoon of butter or olive oil before transferring the fries to a platter. Sprinkle sautéed garlic over the fries with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and parsley.
  • To cook frozen French fries, preheat air fryer to 380–400°F, add fries in a single layer, and cook without thawing. Depending on the type, cook shoestring fries for 10-12 minutes and crinkle-cut fries for 12-15 minutes.

Notes

Adjust cooking time based on the size and thickness of the potato slices for optimal crispiness.
For an even healthier version, consider using an oil mister to reduce the amount of oil used.
