- 200 g bok choy
- ½ tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 4 tbsp water
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp chili oil
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
Instructions
- Wash and dry the bok choy, then slice it lengthwise and lightly coat with sesame oil.
- Heat a BBQ or grill pan over medium-high heat. Place the bok choy cut-side down on the grill until charred, then flip and continue cooking until the stems are tender but still crisp. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a small bowl, stir together the cornstarch and water until smooth to create a slurry.
- In a small pan, heat the chili oil, oyster sauce, garlic, and sugar, stirring until well combined and fragrant.
- Add the cornstarch slurry to the pan and cook briefly, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
- Spoon the sauce over the grilled bok choy and serve immediately.
Notes
Bok choy can be substituted with other leafy greens like napa cabbage.
Adjust chili oil according to your spice preference.
Serve with rice or as a side for grilled meats.
