Description

This grilled chicken marinade brings out irresistible flavors, making your meal memorable. With simple prep and key ingredients, it’s perfect for a quick dinner or a healthy meal option.

Ingredients

Scale
  • to 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1½ teaspoons fine sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Instructions

  1. Prep the chicken by pounding it to an even thickness (about ¾-inch thick) and pat it dry with paper towels.
  2. In a medium bowl or jar, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, soy sauce, garlic, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, onion powder, and honey to make the marinade.
  3. Place the chicken in a large bowl or zip-top bag and pour the marinade over it. Toss until coated, cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
  4. Preheat the grill or grill pan to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
  5. Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting excess drip off. Grill for 5–7 minutes per side until slightly charred and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  6. Transfer the chicken to a clean plate and rest for 5 minutes before slicing to retain its juiciness.
  7. Slice the chicken and serve warm with your favorite sides or use in salads, wraps, or tacos.

Notes

For best results, marinate the chicken for at least 1 hour.
Adjust cooking time based on the thickness of the chicken pieces.
This marinade is versatile and can be used with other proteins as well.
