This Heaven on Earth Cake is a delightful treat featuring soft angel food layers, creamy vanilla pudding, and sweet cherry filling. It’s quick and easy to prepare, making it a perfect dessert for gatherings or family dinners.

- 3.4 oz box instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 ½ cups whole milk
- 8 oz sour cream or plain greek yogurt
- 2 (10 oz) angel food cake loaves
- 21 oz can cherry pie filling
- 8 oz tub cool whip
- sliced almonds
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the pudding mix, milk, and sour cream until smooth. Set aside.
- Spread half of the angel food cake pieces into an even layer in a 9×13 baking dish.
- Top it with ⅔ of the cherry pie filling and spread it out evenly over the cake. Then top with the remaining cake pieces.
- Pour the vanilla pudding mixture on top and spread into an even layer.
- Add an even layer of Cool Whip on top and drop spoonfuls of the remaining cherry pie filling. You can make swirls using a butter knife or skewer if you like.
- Refrigerate the cake for 4 hours, or overnight. Add sliced almonds on top before serving.
Notes
For best flavor, refrigerate overnight to allow the layers to meld.
Garnish with fresh cherries for an extra special touch.
Feel free to substitute the cherry pie filling with your favorite pie filling.
