Ingredients
Scale
- 4 (6 oz / 170 g) salmon fillets
- ½ tsp (3 g) kosher salt
- ½ tsp (1 g) black pepper
- 3 tbsps (42 g) unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) avocado oil
- ½ cup (170 g) honey
- ⅛ cup (30 ml) low sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsps (30 ml) fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp (2 g) paprika optional
- 1 tbsp (4 g) chopped parsley
Instructions
- Season the salmon fillets with kosher salt and black pepper on both sides and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter with avocado oil until it bubbles gently. Then add honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and paprika, stirring until the glaze is smooth and thickened slightly for 1 to 3 minutes.
- Add the seasoned salmon fillets to the skillet and cook for 3 to 5 minutes, letting the glaze bubble around the fish.
- Flip the fillets and cook for another 3 to 5 minutes, basting with the glaze and ensuring the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Once done, remove from heat, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the salmon in the glaze for 30 minutes beforehand.
You can substitute honey with maple syrup for a different taste.
Adjust the amount of soy sauce for desired saltiness.
