- 1½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 6 tablespoons butter (melted)
- 2 cans (14 oz each) sweetened condensed milk
- 3/4 cup bottled key lime juice
- 1/2 cup full-fat sour cream
- zest from 2 limes
- 1½ cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon bottled key lime juice
- fresh lime zest or fresh lime slices (optional garnishes)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly spray a 9-inch pie plate with nonstick cooking spray.
- Combine graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter in a medium bowl, mixing until the texture resembles wet sand. Firmly press into the pie plate to form the crust.
- Bake the crust for 7 minutes, then let it cool at room temperature.
- For the filling, mix sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, sour cream, and lime zest in a large bowl until smooth.
- Pour the filling into the prepared crust and bake for 10 minutes. Cool for 30 minutes on a wire rack.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 6-8 hours, or overnight.
- Prepare key lime whipped cream by beating heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and key lime juice until stiff peaks form.
- Spread whipped cream over the pie or serve slices with dollops of whipped cream. Garnish with lime zest or slices if desired.
