Description

These Nutmeg Ginger Apple Snaps offer a delightful crunch and are packed with the aromatic flavors of nutmeg, ginger, and sweet Gala apples—perfect for any occasion!


Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour (2 1/3 cups)
  • Ground ginger (1 1/2 Tablespoons)
  • Ground cinnamon (2 teaspoons)
  • Grated nutmeg (1 teaspoon)
  • Ground cloves (1/8 teaspoon)
  • Salt (1/8 teaspoon)
  • Butter (1 cup, softened)
  • Granulated sugar (3/4 cup)
  • Brown sugar (3 Tablespoons)
  • Molasses (2 Tablespoons)
  • Egg (1 large)
  • Egg yolk (1 large)
  • Gala apples (3)
  • White cake sprinkles (for topping)


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF and prepare a baking sheet.
  • Combine dry ingredients in a bowl.
  • Cream softened butter until light and fluffy.
  • Add granulated and brown sugar; mix until combined.
  • Incorporate molasses and blend until absorbed.
  • Add eggs, mixing until well combined.
  • Fold in dry mixture gradually until just combined.
  • Shape dough into balls, flatten, and place on the sheet.
  • Top each cookie with a slice of apple.
  • Chill dough for 5 minutes, then bake for 12-14 minutes.
  • Let cool before transferring to a rack.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing.
Substitute Gala apples with any preferred variety.
