- ⅓ cup unsalted butter
- ⅓ cup sweetened condensed milk
- ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 ½ tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and cooled)
- 1 ½ tablespoons heavy cream
- ⅛ to ¼ teaspoon peppermint extract (for frosting)
- Peppermint candies (crushed)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix butter, sweetened condensed milk, and peppermint extract until creamy.
- Gradually add cornstarch and blend until smooth.
- Scoop dough onto the baking sheet, leaving space between.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden and centers soft.
- Cool cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Prepare frosting by mixing powdered sugar, melted butter, heavy cream, and peppermint extract until smooth.
- Once cooled, frost each cookie and sprinkle with crushed peppermint candies.
Notes
Use very soft butter for easy mixing.
Sift powdered sugar to avoid lumps in frosting.
Chill dough if it spreads too much during baking.
