Description

Delight in golden-brown dumplings filled with potato and cheese, sautéed in crispy bacon and onions, creating a comforting dish ideal for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 potato and cheese perogies (frozen)
  • 2 slices thick cut bacon (diced)
  • 1 small onion (finely diced)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
  • Green onions and sour cream to serve as desired

Instructions

  • Boil the perogies in lightly salted water until they float, about 3 minutes.
  • Sauté diced bacon and onion in a skillet over medium-high heat for about 5-7 minutes until crispy.
  • Drain the perogies and dry them on paper towels.
  • Add butter and brown the perogies in the skillet for 2-3 minutes per side until golden.
  • Mix cream, salt, and pepper, then stir into the skillet and simmer until thickened.
  • Garnish with green onions and serve with sour cream.

Notes

Substitute turkey bacon for a leaner choice.
Use gluten-free perogies for a gluten-free adaptation.
Add spices like paprika or garlic powder for extra flavor.
