Description

This Slow Cooker Skirt Steak features irresistible flavors from a rich gravy and tender beef. Perfect for a quick dinner or hearty meal, its simple preparation ensures a delightful dining experience.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs skirt steak
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 cups drippings, from pot, add additional beef broth to make 2 full cups
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch, to thicken in 1/4 cup water, or use arrowroot flour for gluten free option
  • 1 pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 pinch pepper, to taste


Instructions

  1. Slice the skirt steak in half lengthwise so it fits in a single layer inside the slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the top with onion soup mix and pour the beef broth over it.
  3. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the steak is tender and easy to slice.
  4. To prepare the gravy, combine the ingredients in a saucepan (keep cornstarch aside) over medium-high heat, stirring until bubbling. Add the cornstarch-water mixture and stir to thicken. Serve the gravy over the sliced skirt steak.

Notes

For best results, allow the meat to marinate in the broth for a few hours before cooking.
Tailor seasoning to your preference by adjusting salt and pepper levels.
Serve with your favorite sides for a complete meal.
