- 3 pounds chuck roast, or sirloin, cut into cubes
- 1 tablespoon oil
- ½ cup onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt & Pepper
- ¼ cup butter, cut into pieces
- 1 cup beef broth
- ½ packet au jus mix, optional
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over high heat.
- Season steak bites with salt and pepper and add them to the hot oil.
- Brown the steak for 2-3 minutes on each side, then remove it and place it in the crockpot.
- Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic to the steak and stir to combine.
- Pour the beef broth over the meat and sprinkle the au jus mix if using.
- Arrange pats of butter on top of the meat.
- Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 5-6 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the steak in the seasoning for a few hours before cooking.
