Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 pounds chuck roast, or sirloin, cut into cubes
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • ½ cup onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt & Pepper
  • ¼ cup butter, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ½ packet au jus mix, optional

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over high heat.
  2. Season steak bites with salt and pepper and add them to the hot oil.
  3. Brown the steak for 2-3 minutes on each side, then remove it and place it in the crockpot.
  4. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic to the steak and stir to combine.
  5. Pour the beef broth over the meat and sprinkle the au jus mix if using.
  6. Arrange pats of butter on top of the meat.
  7. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 5-6 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the steak in the seasoning for a few hours before cooking.
