Description

These garlic herb steak bites are a flavorful dish that’s easy to prepare. Delicious sirloin chunks sautéed with garlic and thyme create a perfect dinner option for any day of the week.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds sirloin steak, trimmed of excess fat and cut into 1 ½-inch chunks
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3-4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
  • 3 sprigs fresh thyme
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • chopped fresh italian flat-leaf parsley
  • flaky sea salt


Instructions

  1. Season the steak chunks with kosher salt on a baking sheet and let rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
  2. Drizzle steak with olive oil and heat a cast-iron or stainless steel skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak bites in a single layer, sprinkle with black pepper, and cook for 4-5 minutes until browned and easily released from the pan.
  3. Add butter, garlic, and thyme to the skillet. Make a space and let melt, then coat the steak with the garlic butter mixture.
  4. Transfer to a serving plate and drizzle with remaining butter and garnish with parsley, flaky sea salt, and black pepper.

Notes

For best results, let the seasoned steak rest in the refrigerator for enhanced flavor.
Cook in batches to avoid crowding the pan, which can lead to steaming rather than browning.
