Description

These Taco Cups combine savory ground beef, melted cheddar, and fresh toppings in a crispy tortilla shell. Perfect for a quick dinner or a fun party treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 small flour tortillas (6-7 inch)
  • 1 1/2 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium sweet onion finely diced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (1.0 oz)
  • 1 tsp seasoned salt
  • 1 tsp dark chili powder
  • 1 tsp lemon pepper
  • 1/2 cup taco sauce
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • sour cream for serving
  • green onions for serving
  • cherry tomatoes for serving
  • jalapeños for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly spray a 12-cup cupcake pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Press one tortilla into each cupcake well, folding the sides to fit. Spray the tortillas with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion in olive oil until the beef is browned. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Add taco seasoning, dark chili powder, lemon pepper, and seasoned salt to the skillet. Mix well, then stir in the taco sauce.
  5. Simmer the mixture uncovered for 5-10 minutes to reduce slightly, then remove it from heat.
  6. Spoon the taco beef mixture into each tortilla cup, about 1/4 to 1/3 cup per cup.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of each cup and bake for 15-20 minutes in the oven.
  8. After baking, let the cups sit for 3-5 minutes before serving with your preferred toppings, such as sour cream, tomatoes, or jalapeños.

Notes

Feel free to customize the toppings to your liking – guacamole and black olives make great additions!
These taco cups are perfect for parties or as a quick, satisfying dinner option.
Experiment with different cheeses or add some beans into the beef mixture for extra flavor.
