Description

These sliders combine layers of roast beef, gooey cheese, and crispy onions, served with savory au jus, making them a favorite for gatherings and quick meals.


Ingredients

  • Hawaiian rolls
  • Deli sliced roast beef (1 lb)
  • Swiss or provolone cheese (10-12 slices)
  • French fried onions (1 cup)
  • Butter (4 tablespoons)
  • Au jus gravy mix (1 packet or 1 oz)
  • Garlic powder (½ tsp)
  • Onion powder (½ tsp)
  • Sesame seeds (½ tsp, optional)
  • Fresh parsley or thyme (for garnish, optional)


Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  • Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping them attached.
  • Layer half the cheese slices on the bottom roll.
  • Add the deli slices of roast beef evenly over the cheese.
  • Sprinkle French fried onions over the beef layer.
  • Add the remaining cheese slices on top of the onions.
  • Place the top half of the rolls back on top.
  • Melt butter and mix with garlic powder and onion powder; brush over the rolls.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired.
  • Bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  • Prepare au jus according to the packet instructions.
  • Garnish sliders with parsley or thyme if using, then serve warm with au jus.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider using a blend of Swiss and provolone cheese.
Prep the slider ingredients a few hours in advance and bake before serving.
Substitute with gluten-free rolls to make the sliders gluten-free.
