These sliders combine layers of roast beef, gooey cheese, and crispy onions, served with savory au jus, making them a favorite for gatherings and quick meals.
Ingredients
- Hawaiian rolls
- Deli sliced roast beef (1 lb)
- Swiss or provolone cheese (10-12 slices)
- French fried onions (1 cup)
- Butter (4 tablespoons)
- Au jus gravy mix (1 packet or 1 oz)
- Garlic powder (½ tsp)
- Onion powder (½ tsp)
- Sesame seeds (½ tsp, optional)
- Fresh parsley or thyme (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping them attached.
- Layer half the cheese slices on the bottom roll.
- Add the deli slices of roast beef evenly over the cheese.
- Sprinkle French fried onions over the beef layer.
- Add the remaining cheese slices on top of the onions.
- Place the top half of the rolls back on top.
- Melt butter and mix with garlic powder and onion powder; brush over the rolls.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired.
- Bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Prepare au jus according to the packet instructions.
- Garnish sliders with parsley or thyme if using, then serve warm with au jus.
Notes
For a richer flavor, consider using a blend of Swiss and provolone cheese.
Prep the slider ingredients a few hours in advance and bake before serving.
Substitute with gluten-free rolls to make the sliders gluten-free.
